Sylvia Grove is a young alumni, who graduated summa cum laude this past spring with two bachelor of arts degrees, in writing and in French. She will be spending the next year working as a teaching assistant in Nancy. Sylvia is excited to continue the love affair she developed with French culture since studying abroad in Avignon in the fall of 2005.
During her SU career, Sylvia was actively involved with many different departments. As a talented oboist, she participated in several university musical groups and performances. She also served as the editor for Rivercraft, an on-campus literary publication, and this past year as the co-editor of the SU Review. In the French department, she acted as a teaching assistant and as a choreographer/stage manager for “Katel Golet” and “The Lost Planets of the Petit Prince.”
In her spare time, Sylvia is a skilled ballerina and swing dancer, who loves deep conversations over coffee and dark chocolate, and wearing her hair curly.
