2006 – 2007 Academic Year: Main Events
French Cooking Experience
Students were invited to Dr. Palermo’s house, where a professional chef provided students with a French cooking lesson. Club members were given the opportunity to discuss French food and culture, while enjoying a delicious meal. In the future, French Club hopes to continue this event, hosting a cooking class once a semester.
French Play Reception
Each fall the French Club hosts a reception for French 301’s annual play. The members of the class write, produce, and perform in short French plays. The reception serves as a special welcome for the audience of local high school and college students, but also for the SU faculty and students that attend.

Mardi Gras Fête
To celebrate Mardi Gras, the French Club co-hosted a dance party at TRAX. Members worked with Volunteer Services to celebrate the event, while remembering the Hurricane Katrina tragedy, and raising money for future Hurricane Relief Trips.

Care Packages
French students studying abroad for the Spring ’07 semester received personalized care packages, as a small reminder of life at Susquehanna University and the friends and faculty who supported them.
Hosting Senshu Students
French Club worked with SU International and the Asian Student Coalition to pair off interested members with Japanese exchange students from Senshu. French club members took part in several events including a welcoming party, cooking night, where students cooked and shared a traditional American dish, and farewell celebration. Members also interacted with their respective students on an individual basis throughout their stay.

Gourmet French Meal
In late March, members visited Le Jeune Chef, a restaurant managed by culinary students in Williamsport. At the restaurant, students enjoyed a gourmet French meal, prepared according to a French Mountains theme, while celebrating the events of the past year.
